It may not be enough to save BBC4, but the news that Julia Bradbury is moving to ITV will make Countryfile somewhat cheaper to produce.

She tells Hello magazine that her new programme for the commercial broadcaster is "something I couldn’t afford to turn down at this stage in my life and career. I’ve been heavily [involved] in the development of this one, so it’s very close to my heart." It features our heroine camping - spookily Julia is first female President of the Camping and Caravanning Club.

Julia's personal affairs are looked after by sister Gina, who used to be her agent. Both were involved in a travel controversy in 2009, over Virgin air miles, now resolved.
