All change in diary land - Richard Kay, who replaced Nigel Dempster on the Daily Mail in October 2003, seems to have decided that ten years is enough, and is to become a "writer at large". He rose to fame under Sir David English, as Princess Diana's principal confidant (though she's said to have described him as a sort of "cadaverous Richard Gere"), and has had more than one toe-to-toe session with Paul Dacre over the years.
According to Journalisted, Richard has written more about the BBC than anything else in the past twelve months. His replacement is to be Sebastian Shakespeare, currently running The Londoner's Diary on the Evening Standard. Seb's diary items are unbylined, so not tracked by Journalisted, but Auntie usually gets a daily mention in some shape or form. No let up likely as he moves to the national stage......
