Interrogator

Polymath silk Alan Maclean, of Brick Court Chambers (The Lawyer Chambers of the Year 2012), will be helping Nick Pollard frame his questions in the Newsnight/Savile Inquiry. We are told the interviews are being "taped" - one hopes on video; one suspects it's just audio.

Alan boasts a double first in PPE from University College, Oxford. He covers the waterfront in the cases he takes, but has a strong cv in public inquiries. He was selected to represent Tony Blair and Jonathan Powell in the Hutton Inquiry; he's also been involved in the Deepcut Barracks inquiry, the Bristol Royal Infirmary inquiry and the South Wales E-Coli inquiry.

Overall, legal advice for Mr Pollard is being provided by BBC-framework-supplier-and-global-behemoth Reed Smith. Their Broadgate office, with 300 lawyers out of 1700 worldwide, is their biggest.
