Squeaky bum time on the two presenter chairs at the BBC News Channel. The BBC Trust, in its review of the current service licence, has removed any requirement to co-present from news events, and indeed, to co-present at all. So there's an obvious DQF cut on the way.
And the Trust is not sure about filling "back half hours" with built programmes. Apparently only Click, HardTalk, Panorama and Question Time make any impact at all. This change will require some rebalancing of staff away from weekly output and back onto the live news hamster wheel.
