I was wrong about the BBC's main Olympic Studio; they are re-using their "portable" construction from the South Africa 2010 World Cup, but it won't be wedged into Anish Kapoor's "Any Old Iron" tower.

Instead architects Urban Space Management have conjured up a much lower platform - of shipping containers - and Allies and Morrison have designed a pergola on top.  The key question - what views will be offered behind Gary and our other hosts ?  The outsides of the various stadia, with queues of fans munching McDonalds as they shuffle in and out of the venues.  Iconic.
