When the BBC Trust looked for a new base, to get out of 35 Marylebone High Street, there was a suspicion that "proximity of good restaurants" might be on the requirements. Indeed, there were rumours that they were considering Charlotte Street, the original home of C4. We have noted how handy their final choice, 180 Great Portland Street, is for Villandry and upmarket tapas bar Iberica.
In July, their lunchtime options widen even further, with the opening of a Nando's branch immediately adjacent. Will they open the windows to let the peri-peri aromas into their deliberations on impartiality, public value etc ? Or will it be a case of Delivering Chicken Wings First ?
