An entertaining piece of Royal Wedding stats-gathering has appeared, collated by an anonymous BBC Online journalist. But it strangely makes no reference to the estimated "2 billion" worldwide tv audience. I'm sure it'll come, driven towards the public by the outgoing keeper of the "candle of journalism" Mark Byford, and possibly even announced at his leaving party this month.

• In the US, the viewing figures are put at close to 23 million - 7 per cent of the population - and are up from Charles and Di's wedding.
