Figures of around 25m for the total UK tv audience for the Royal Wedding must be disappointing for the trail-makers of the BBC and Jeremy Hunt, who talked about 2 billion viewers worldwide. The Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Bejing Olympics holds the most verifiable record - at 1 billion viewers - and that was helped considerably by local interest from a country of 1.6bn.
