On 11th January, former Countryfile reporter Miriam O'Reilly received a phone call from BBC Director General Mark Thompson, apologising for the way she'd been treated by the organisation, and saying she'd be welcome back on air. It's been sorted now, with the news that she'll be the outside broadcaster presenter/reporter for the daytime version of Crimewatch. She clearly didn't need an agent to win the gig.
Maybe others do: BBC political correspondent Carole Walker this week complained she'd had barely any presentation shifts, since being announced as a presenter "over 50" on the News Channel in December 2009.
Others seem happier - Fiona Armstrong, Julia Somerville are making odd appearances, though there isn't a published schedule of presenters for the network. Their agents are Sue Knight and Sue Ayton of Knight Ayton. They also represent Moira Stuart, Angela Rippon, Jennie Bond and Joan Bakewell.
