Here's FoI confirmation that, as if the BBC wasn't inundated with complaints, the dafties at the Trust set up an exercise where complaints were made up, to "test the operation of the complaints framework". "Mystery shoppers" were directed to BBC programme teams, organised by Ipsos Moir, at a cost of £20k. And it's still going on. Phase 2 is underway, under the auspices of GFK NOP, and is described as bigger, with made-up complaints going to BBC Information and indies supplying the BBC.
I'm sure BBC staff, as they soldier on through DQF, will be delighted to know that their in-trays have such important stuff in them.
