The Asian Network seems to have been saved, but we're still weak on detail. The Guardian believes its budget could be halved - but is that the £9m output figure, or the £12m overall cost ? And by when ? Others say the way the station will work in future will now be wrapped up in the Delivering Quality First process (currently causing widespread alarm in all directions).
Dan Sabbagh in The Guardian makes an argument for quick, effective decision-making at the BBC - but the stories of 6Music and the Asian Network have shown it takes time for programme-makers and audiences to make their cases against the strategists and accountants.
We'll know more tomorrow, when I suspect some of the Asian Network staff will come back from the various pubs they've undoubtedly headed to. You need a drink after a year with an axe over your head. Especially in
Leicester.
Or we might have to wait until Friday, when Andy Parfitt is appearing on Radio 4's Feedback.
