An excellent year for all forms of BBC Radio, and many of their indie commissions. They've got 98 of a possible maximum 168 nominations in this year's Sony Radio Academy Awards. And Mark Byford will probably be pleased to see no BBC nominations at all in Competition of The Year.
I've found 22 for Radio 4, 16 for BBC Radio 5Live, 14 for Absolute Radio and 14 for Radio 2. There are three for Victoria Derbyshire and three for Frank Skinner.
Good luck to Matt Deegan of Fun Kids and Ian Walker of Jack FM in the category Station Programmer of The Year. The other nominee is Moz Dee of Talksport, whose showreel may or may not have included the thoughts of Andy Gray and Richard Keys.
