There's been a massive outbreak of acronyms at the BBC staff magazine, Ariel. The current front page is emblazoned with a huge graphic "K.I.S.S.", which apparently stands for Keep It Short and Simple, an emerging theme from the D.Q.F. (Delivering Quality First) "Simplicity workstream". Readers will know I spend some time in the company of wags (not, this time, the acronym for footballers' partners), and yesterday the pre-eminent wiseacre (there seems to be a rota for this role, but I've yet to be selected) pointed out that the correct acronym should be KISAS, which might be what the middle managers in the workstream are actually doing.
We ruminated on appropriate staff replies to the workstream team, which seeks their involvement. Twitter seems help here. Pardon the language, but WTF, FO and FRO were our best calls.
