December 2010: Peel Group and ITV finally announced a deal to move Quay Street operations to MediacityUK. Coronation Street will move to Peel land across the canal, and build fenced encampment, car parking and dull office block. ITV needs planning permission from Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council.
January 2011: Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council announces it has leased 41,000 sq ft of serviced office space from Peel Group in their Quay West building. 650 council employees will move there from summer for eighteen months, whilst Trafford Town Hall is refurbished. Rental undisclosed.
