- The BBC paid £69,000 a year for car insurance for the past two financial years, in a multi-year deal. Clearly they don't go to the Meerkat every year. Third party claims settled were 133 in 2008/9, and 121 in 2009/10. However, there was a total of 2,111 "incidents", including theft, vandalism, broken windscreens, over the two years.
- The BBC paid £7.4m in 1983 for the Elstree site that is now home to Eastenders, for a 299-year lease.
- The BBC cannot provide the full cost of bottled water across the organisation, but did spend £407k on refills for the large free-standing dispensers in 2008/9. I'm guessing that's around £18 per employee.
- So far, 97 staff have been re-located to Manchester, and average relocation costs per person spent so far are £7,125.
