If there are talks between the BBC and the NUJ today, it may mean a change of plan for HR head honcho Lucy Adams, due to speak in Manchester on the topic "Forging a New Path Forward".
It's a tea-time session for the annual conference of the Chartered Institute of Personnel (or People as the BBC prefers) and Development, and Lucy's down to share a panel with Employment Minister Chris Grayling amongst others. The panel is ask to ruminate on "how HR can take advantage of the opportunities this [current] level of change provides and lead on performance improvements, efficiency savings and innovative restructuring to equip organisations for long-term success". I always knew they were in charge. Innovative restructuring is what the BBC needs, not least in terms of executive pay, Lucy.
