I'm sure these things are not competitive in the modern multimedia newsroom of the BBC, but, so far, the tv side of the house are producing more live output than radio in the strike.
In a surprise manoeuvre, Emma Crosby, ex Sky and GMTV, surfaced on the News Channel on Thursday afternoon - clearly to get herself familiar with the studio set-up for strike day. And, lo, at 1300 today there was Emma on BBC1, linking reports by deskmen Jon Williams, Jim Buchanan and Jonathan Baker. One stumble, over Giotto pronunciation, and it was done. Whether Emma has signed for just a day or two, or a serious contract, it's not perhaps the best way to introduce yourself to a newsroom, but the Twittersphere is all in favour....
