There's nothing like a good conference to take a journalist's mind off recession, strikes etc. News Xchange 2010 seems to be doing well - the organisers say all rooms at the Athenaeum InterContinental Hotel in Athens ("Contemporary grandeur... Athens’ largest guestrooms, award winning fine dining venues") have now been taken for this year's do.
It opens tonight with a cocktail party, followed by a gala dinner in The New Museum of the Acropolis, then two days of talking, under the five-star banner "New realities". Normally, there's a quite a few BBC delegates. I can only find Alex Gubbay, Social Media News, as a BBC name amongst the panellists; and Newswatch presenter Ray Snoddy has tweeted that he's Athens-bound. Anyone noticed a boss or two missing from TV Centre ?
