It's hard to tell if there's "new" news on ITV's rumoured move to Salford Quays. This appeared in the Sunday Times.
"Coronation Street’s famous cobbles are set to be transported from central Manchester to a state-of-the-art home next to the BBC’s new northern base at Salford Quays. ITV is this week expected to submit planning applications for a studio complex and offices on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal."
Other references last week, by Broadcast and picked up on Digital Spy, have been retweeted by media-savvy Salford councillors. All a bit different from the previous week, when ITV wanted it known they were still considering two sites - or was that a negotiating ploy ? It's believed Adam Crozier has been doing the negotiations with Peel "personally" - but has anyone actually seen him in Manchester ? If there is an application, more than an handful of people are in the know....
