We've reported before on the chase for information being conducted by Mrs Lily Burlero. She lodged an FOI request in May this year, asking about £7.7m of grant-in-aid to the World Service that had apparently been repaid to the FCO. The correspondence has rambled on, and the dogged Mrs Burlero has succeeded in getting Sir Michael Lyons involved, and in winning an acknowledgement from a BBC apparatchik that the organisation is in breach of the terms of the FOI Act.
The BBC has now promised to reply by 5th November - six months, a tad over the Freedom of Information target of 20 working days.
