BBC Director of Future Media and Technology Erik Huggers has finally filled the hole left by Antony Rose - with Mark Rivera. He'll have the title Director, Digital Media. Here's Ralph's Twitter mini-bio "Old School Digerati, Geek b4 Geek was cool, MLG, AOL, Pearson, Viacom, Deloitte, IBM, GE, Columbia, NYU Stern, BX Sci, Knicks, Yankees, Giants, Lifelong NYer".
Decoding that a little, Mark was, until February this year, Vice President of AOL Games and AOL Latino. Then, as AOL retrenched, he joined Major League Gaming. It will be interesting to find out what sort of salary attracted him away from his clearly-beloved New York. Unless it's a contract, as with Antony Rose, which seems to take more time for the BBC to disclose. Mark will sit astride this management team...
Mark Kortekaas - General Manager, Online Technology Group.
Phil Fearnley - General Manager, News and Knowledge.
Daniel Danker - General Manager for programmes and on-demand.
Christina Scott (Acting) General Manager, Children’s, Sport and Applications.
How many of them will be based at MediaCityUK ? Could it be that only the acting post is Salford-bound ?
