An esteemed correspondent has noted an advert in the BBC staff magazine Ariel for a house that's clearly hoping to tempt a senior manager moving to Salford Quays. It's a Georgian mansion, offered at £1.15m.

Using the property search engine, Globrix, I discovered that there are currently 29 properties on offer at £1m+ within five miles of Salford Quays.  Most are clustered around Worsley to the north west, and Withington to the south east.

A search on Globrix for properties valued at £1m+ within five miles of White City tube station currently produces 4,775 results.   Reducing the search range to 0.2 miles still produces 27 options.
