How popular music promotion works....

Those of you puzzled to see Jamiroquai amble through White Knuckle Ride on Sunday's XFactor might consider this.

I suspect Simon Cowell quite liked the idea of Rihanna on the show.  Her new single and CD, Loud, are out on the Island/Def Jam label, part of the Universal Music Group. Mr Cowell was also probably ok about Bon Jovi singing along with the remaining contestants.  Bon Jovi's latest Greatest Hits double CD is out on the Island/Def Jam label, part of the Universal Music Group.

Jamiroquai's work is out on the Mercury Label in the UK; Mercury product in the States comes out on the Island/Def Jam label. Both are subsidiaries of the Universal Music Group. Maybe Simon had to have JK; one suspects JK knew that....
