Some bad news for those hoping to sweep up government funds after the disbandment of regional bodies like the NWDA (backers of MediaCityUK): Vince Cable is not impressed.
He's told a fringe meeting at the Libdem conference that most of the bids to form Local Enterprise Partnerships are "hopelessly fragmented" - and anyway, the promised £1bn regional growth fund won't be routed through them. Reported by Public Property UK.
