The Manchester Evening News points out that Metrolink trams are still not popping in and out of MediacityUK, nine days after something went wrong near the Harbour City stop.  The service between the city centre and Eccles has resumed, but, according to the MEN, service providers Stagecoach are conducting a "thorough operational review" before re-opening the spur to MediaCity.

Although the tram crashed into a post, amused commenters note that, technically, it was derailed before that - a lamp-post on the tracks would have been a rather obvious design fault.   Some Twitterers have suggested that the reversing in and out of MediaCity was controlled manually, so technically it may not have been a "points failure".
