New media expert Steve Bowbrick is an excellent addition to the BBC Radio team, and blogs today about his role as a conduit of tweets from listeners, and how it help restore the right feed of Radio 4 on the internet.
There will be some, however, who will feel that using "Twitter as a service monitor" is not necessarily a success. The BBC invests serious money in transmissions systems and control room staff to provide 24 monitoring. If it takes tweets and phone calls to notice something's wrong, something's wrong.
