You can't beat a little trip to Malta in mid-October. Huw Edwards had planned to be there on the 19th and 20th. He was due to host the business sessions of The Travel Convention, at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre in St Julians. Until it became clear that October 20 was also the biggest day in UK cost-cutting history - the formal announcement of the Coalition's Public Spending Review.
Now Bill Turnbull's going to Malta.
