Classic FM have signed Nick Ferrari to do a Saturday interview programme - presumably he'll knock 'em off after his LBC breakfast show, across the corridor at Global HQ - but there's no sign yet of a permanent replacement for Simon Bates, off to do breakfast for Smooth Radio.
Simes leaves a big hole in the Classic schedule - 0900 to 1300. The station's creative director Tim Lihoreau has occasionally filled in. But they'll need a bigger name long term. Is Sarah Kennedy in their thoughts ? Bring back Henry Kelly ? Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen ? Aled Jones ? Not names that set this heart racing - but the forums are bereft of better ideas. Let's see if MD Darren Henley can get creative.
