Two thirds of the BBC's journalists earn less than £37,726 p.a. I'm not sure that's a bombshell, but it's the other side of the NUJ's assertion that the latest BBC pay offer would freeze the salaries of one third of BBC journalists.
I suspect the Telegraph, Mail and Times would like to know more about the spread of that top third, which presumably stretches to Editor-in-chief Mark Thompson (salary £664k, total package £834k) and his deputy, and Director of Journalism, Mark Byford (salary £471k, total package £485k).
