BBC Political Editor Nick Robinson is still enjoying the superlatives as the peace-time coalition edges forward - but for how long ? Ian Dale, amongst others, thought that he would move on after the election. There's no fixed term for the post. John Cole served 11 years, Robin Oakley 8 and Andrew Marr 5. Nick's been in the role for five years, but before that, he was Political Editor at ITN, making a total of eight years of long days while Parliament's at work.
Presumably one judgement has to be the likelihood of a second election - it would be hard to blood someone new if the coalition ran into trouble, say, within a year. So perhaps Mr Robinson's next move is on the back burner for a while....
