Reading emetic articles so you don't have to...

The headline about the BBC in the papers today is, roughly, "Today programme - they're a bunch of misogynists". It's from an interview with Mariella Frostrup, for The Lady. The interviewer was Rachel Johnson, sister of Boris. It's hard to keep food down while reading it - I offer this musing from Rachel, at the end of the interview.

I stare at her admiringly. And this is what goes through my mind. What a star performer. What a pro. And what a babe, to boot. To outside appearances, Frostrup has the perfect life. A career that requires her to read books, go on telly and radio, and talk to writers. Glamorous, loyal friends like Penny Smith, Richard and Emma (Curtis/Freud), two small and adorable children, a handsome lawyer husband (Jason McCue), homes in Scotland, and Notting Hill, a pink tricycle…

Look. I know I come across as pretty smug at times, but the truth is, if I ever had to switch, Mariella is the woman I’d like to be.
