Whilst the country waits for a Government, there's a different sort of jostling taking place in our broadcasting organisations. Our big beasts all want to be either on the spot, or on the air at the moment it happens, so they can be forever in the archive when we call up library shots of the first election of 2010. Robinson, Boulton and Bradby have the best chance - will Dimbleby, Paxman and Stewart be brought back come Monday ? Clegg and Cameron also want a good setting and coverage if there is a deal, but the City and foreign exchanges may mean that happens at very short notice. Clegg in particular seems very relaxed about just getting on with that side of things, and letting the cameras catch up, as he showed outside Cowley Street on Saturday.
And can the flying hordes of purple clad protestors keep up some momentum once the weekend has passed ? I suspect Sky News may be glazing their scaffolding at Westminster as we speak.
