Ouch !

Oh dear. Mark Damazer, usually so careful with words, will have irritated a range of journalists with a side comment in an Evening Standard interview yesterday. Discussing his early career, he remembers time served at the World Service - "a weird place, very cautious, journalistically second-rate, unambitious". He was there sometime between 1981 and 1983 as a current affairs producer.
