Sky News really splashed out last night - hovering cameras, big screens and fantastic projections on the side of the Arnolfini. Cars sweeping up as if for a G20 summit. Young crowds outside (9 arrests) and Laura Kuenssberg (BBC) enjoying being in "this immense media centre".
Only a few tricks missed - a producer watching George Alagiah might have nudged the projectors to the big Sky News graphic when he was in vision on the BBC Ten O'Clock News.
On the politics side, I enjoyed the body language lady on Newsnight who though that Clegg was "channelling Blair". I suspect he really is engaging with younger voters, who clustered round the pub screen I was watching (no pressure to put the football on instead !). Cameron had a major eye-twitch moment when Clegg start laying into the Conservative alliances in Europe, and finds it difficult to remove the pained frown when he's not speaking. In the spinning stakes, it's increasingly hard to take Alistair Campbell seriously. Where was Mandelson last night ?
