OK, coders, forget poll trackers, swingometers, seat calculators and the rest: what we need is a Fantasy Coalition Cabinet generator. The FT is already on the case with content. Lib Dem commentator Miranda Green suggest Nick Clegg for PM, with Alan Johnson as deputy (for being the first to be nice to Nick), Alastair Darling staying on as Chancellor, David Miliband to the Home office, and Paddy Ashdown as Foreign Secretary.
For a Tory view, the FT turns to Charles Lewington, who is less sporting. He has Cameron as PM, Osborne as Chancellor, Clegg at the Home Office, Hague at the FCO, and a nameless role for Alan Johnson. On-message Matthew Taylor, for Labour, funks the brief.
The mischievous Mail would like us to think Labour is already imploding, with Miliband emerging as new leader. In the Guardian, Christopher Montgomery thinks a Lib-Lab coalition should go further, into a fully merged Progressive Party - giving us back the two party politics we apparently all enjoy.
