Rejoice, people of Northumberland. Press Gazette informs us that the paywall experiment at Johnston Press is over - and the little red "P"'s for premium content that dotted the website of the Northumberland Gazette (amongst five others) have gone. The charge was £5 a quarter. Editor Paul Larkin had a reasonable quotient of interested media around when it started - but at the moment, there's no official comment on how it all went. I'm guessing: the hits went up, but the money that changed hands was minimal.
