Unhappy editor

It's grand that an organisation like the BBC allows personal opinions to be freely expressed. I've just discovered that Radio Times editor Jane Anderson has taken advantage of the "In My Opinion" blog on the RT site to savage the decision to close 6Music. Here's an extract.

The latest BBC annual report shows that 6 Music costs 3.4p per listener hour.

For this you can have your mind gently spun in the tumble dryer of tangential ideas, strange stories and eclectic sounds that is Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service, soak in the warm bath of inclusive comedy of the Adam and Joe show, or marvel at the strange-but-true track list that fills Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone each week - where else would you hear Ballad of the Hip Death Goddess by Ultimate Spinach?

Meanwhile, over on BBC3 the current cost per viewer hour is 10.6p. Money wisely spent on Snog, Marry, Avoid?, Hotter than My Daughter and Dancing on Wheels? Ahem. There really is no competition.
