Benchmark
Building Design reports that the world's longest bench has won planning permission. Designed by Studio Weave for Littlehampton seafront, it's 655 metres long, and, like most civic benches, seems to actually discourage sitting and lying down, with a construction of enamel-covered steel slats twisting and turning around an existing low wall. It sinks to ground level occasionally, to let the people through...
