CABE, the quango which advises the Government on architecture, urban space and the Built Environment, has laid into the designs for the 2012 International Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre. The MPC is a "large monolithic block" which needs "considerably more work" in terms of its visual appearance. The IBC "mega-structure" gets a verdict of "extraordinary banality"; it reveals "a paucity of imagination and analysis which we find deeply disappointing".
