New blood
First three appointments in the BBC English Regions post the move to the News mothership (prop. Helen Boaden) are all "outsiders". Stuart Thomas, currently editing ITV's London News, gets to run the East Midlands; Jane McCloskey jumps from the sinking ITV West and West Country, to run BBC South West, based in Plymouth. And David Lloyd, previously with Virgin Radio until it turned Absolute, gets East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
