Disaggregated

"We can no longer stand by and watch others walk off with our work under some very misguided, unfounded legal theories," said Dean Singleton, chairman of Associated Press, quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle. "We are mad as hell, and we are not going to take it any more".

AP says it will take on those on the Web who use its content without paying for it, launching its annual report in San Diego. Meanwhile, it's reducing fees to newspapers further (by an average of 20%) - probably reckoning that something is better than nothing.
