Building Design reports problems for a proposed steel archway at the north west entrance to London's Leicester Square. 25 foot tall, the structure will carry the huge glockenspiel clock which used to adorn the corner of the now-demolished Swiss Centre. Some way of featuring this odd piece of heritage was a planning condition for the new hotel under construction.
The design was due to come before councillors this Friday, but local groups say it spoils key views, so it's been pulled for a re-think.
