Keith Dovkants
I only twigged Keith Dovkants late. Not a great sentence, but I hope he will understand. To my shame, I occasionally thought, in my callow youth, that Dovkants was a "house name", used by subs to cover those stories when the (London) Evening Standard machine had to rely largely on PA. Then he began to get specials and spreads in the paper. And you could tell this was a real person. I've enjoyed reading his stuff ever since. He seems to be retiring (courtesy of Press Gazette) and will be missed by me and, I'm sure, others.
