On the town

PoliticsHome editor Paul Waugh has found an interesting document - a disclosure of regular meetings and dinners where the Metropolitan Police and the News of the World got round the table over the past five years or so.  The most featured names are Met PR chief Dick Fedorcio, Deputy Commissioner Paul Stephenson (now "Sir" and the boss), and the "News of the World Deputy Editor".  According to various cuttings, Jane Johnson took that role in 2007. However most of the broadsheets assume that the meetings were with Neil Wallis - who moved up to Executive Editor in 2007.

This month, Jane has just moved from The Sun to become director of Sky Living.  Whatever the cast list for the dinners, they seem to have been twice yearly events between November 2007 and June 2009.

I hope Dick and Paul can also point to similar meetings with other Fleet Street luminaries.
