And, as we scan the BBC News website to find out what matters in the world this Boxing Day, we find the announcement that a former member of Girls Aloud is pregnant nestling well within the first seven.
The same story is missing entirely from the 'front pages' of sites run by ITV News, Sky News and GB News. It's not mentioned by The Times or The Telegraph.
Did you see the state of the late TV news on Sunday 3 Jan? Extended and largely devoted to the raid in Caracas and the rendition of Maduro - but incredibly weak and lacking both in individual reports and overall structure. It was as if no one of experience, maturity or seniority had laid hands on it. OK, it's a Saturday just after New Year, but surely senior journalists, editors and managers are remunerated well enough to abandon their families get to the office (newsroom) and explain to us what is going on? They had 18 hours to work up something half decent. Someone on X suggested the BBC is vowed because of the Trump action - but to me this looked like a game of headless chicken.
