Whassup ??

The BBC finally got into the Michael Prescott dossier with a piece entitled "BBC has questions to answer over edited Trump speech, MPs say".

In it we're told "Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy and senior officials in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport have received a copy of the internal memo, and have been assured by the BBC that the corporation is examining the issues it raises."

Notice the present tense: "is examining the issues it raises."   And yesterday's BBC statement: "While we don’t comment on leaked documents, when the BBC receives feedback it takes it seriously and considers it carefully."

The whole point about Prescott's complaint is that he departed the BBC's employ feeling he hadn't been listened to, on a range of editorial issues, and had reached a dead end.  Remember, Board Chair Samir Shah also chairs the Editoral Standards Board. We haven't got the minutes of their most recent meeting; at the June meeting the only hint of dissent was recorded as  The Committee also discussed responses to a number [of] editorial questions raised offline", with no further action.

So who's examining what, now, dear BBC, and when will we be told the outcome ?
