One wonders how the recent behaviour of Michael Prescott, Managing Director of Hanover Communications, might have affected business.
In his role with the BBC, he's used a slightly different title in personal declarations - "independent member" of the BBC Board's Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee"; the BBC described him as something less: "Editorial Advisor".
The difference is important, as a top-ranking consultant like Prescott should know. A company buying the services of an 'advisor" is fully entitled to ignore the advice, and indeed, would expect that advice to remain confidential to them as employer.
Would Michael Prescott, journalist and public affairs consultant, have advised someone that writing a dossier to the BBC Board, Ofcom and the DCMS would ever be likely to be kept confidential ?
