Searching

Here's a wonderful example of time-consuming bureaucracy strangling the BBC - a bundle of 148 pages of 'process' all because somebody asked to see if there were any documents recording discussions about Huw Edwards pay. The request was made in August last year; the non-answer was produced in November. It was only when the requester involved  wrote to the Information Commissioner that email searches of executive accounts were conducted. They said they discovered 1800, and therefore it was too time consuming to search them all for relevance.  Unfortunately, in the correspondence, they reveal that the figure came down to 903 once some de-duplication had been done.
