Ah, the refreshing honesty of the disc-jockey. Radio 2's Vernon Kay told listeners on Friday “Today we’re broadcasting live from Cardiff. We are in the big, beautiful BBC building. I say big and beautiful BBC building here in Wales.....lots of buckets on the floor because it’s been absolutely tipping it down. It seems like they’ve got a leaky roof."
A spokeswoman for BBC Cymru Wales said: “There is ongoing maintenance work happening to the roof of the building. We’re thrilled to have Vernon back with us in Cardiff and that he enjoys broadcasting from here.”
Back in 2020 website WalesOnline quoted a 'source': “This building cost £120m and yet it doesn’t seem to be totally waterproof. It’s a bit embarrassing really. You wouldn’t think that this kind of problem would happen so early in the building’s life.”
