Tiller tweaks

It's a topsy-turvy world at BBC News. At 6pm last night, the BBC1 bulletin led with a story that a lairy South London-greengrocer-turned tv celebrity has been making severely off-colour remarks off-mic for some years. Not a lead for ITV News at 6.30pm, who went with the escaping Iranian spy; not a lead for the Radio 4 6 O'clock News, who went with immigration rises under the Tories.

At Ten on BBC1, the chosen lead - a pre-planned sausage from the News Factory; a bootless preview of the Commons debate on assisted dying. Sometimes, Debs, news is stuff that has happened, rather than guesses about what might happen.
